Our Heritage

Historical Background of MOYO School

MOYO School of Nursing & Midwifery was established in **2004** with a clear mandate to address the critical shortage of qualified healthcare professionals in the Northern Region of Uganda. Founded by **Dr. Geoffrey Lada Arubaku**, the school began with a small cohort of students, initially focusing solely on **Certificate in Enrolled Nursing**.

Over the years, the institution has grown significantly, expanding its curriculum to include both Nursing and Midwifery diploma programs. This expansion was driven by the recognized need for highly trained practitioners capable of providing compassionate and competent care, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Our history is a testament to resilience and a continuous commitment to educational excellence and community health impact. We continue to build upon our foundation of practical training and ethical professional development.
